We continue to be thankful for the generous support of donors and the campus in providing scholarship opportunities for our students allowing broader access to the high impact experience of study abroad. This spring we are highlighting a new Access Study Abroad Scholarship as well as additional funding toward the Global Scholars opportunities. We’re also excited to announce a new scholarship with our affiliated partner CEA CAPA.

Access Study Abroad Scholarships became available this year to help offset the cost of studying abroad for students with high financial need. Students who are interested in studying abroad in Summer 2023 or during the 2023-24 Academic Year (Fall or Spring) should apply! Awards are need-based and average $4000.

Global Scholars awards opened opportunities for high need students to get partial or full support to study on the Cal Poly Global Programs! This winter, the Cal Poly International Center awarded a total of around $150,000 in Global Scholarships to students going on Cal Poly Global programs in summer or fall 2023. Of this, six full scholarships were awarded to students going on Cal Poly in London. The Cal Poly Global Programs Scholarship was recently established in an effort to make study abroad affordable for students who would not otherwise have pursued a study abroad experience due to financial limitations. The awards are available due to the generosity of an anonymous donor who has a heartfelt commitment to increasing access to study abroad among Cal Poly students who could not otherwise afford it.

New CEA CAPA Scholarship

In acknowledgment of our strong and long-standing partnership, the Cal Poly International Center has received $25,000 in scholarship funding from CEA CAPA Education Abroad that will support a future passport initiative as well as 10-15 study abroad program scholarships of $1,000 to $1,500 each. This scholarship opportunity is in addition to the CEA CAPA Matthew Yount Memorial Scholarship, another scholarship exclusively for Cal Poly students participating in CEA CAPA study and internship programs. Like the Cal Poly International Center, CEA CAPA believes that study abroad experiences should be accessible to all students.
