The Study Abroad Peer Advisors led a successful inaugural “Abroad After College” workshop on May 14. Our peer advisors highlighted several different resources to assist Cal Poly’s soon-to-be graduates with going abroad after college, including tips on how to find international jobs through Career Services’ GoinGlobal online resource, and how to navigate the application process for graduate schools abroad. Advisors taught students about specific programs that previous graduates have applied for, including the Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Program and the CIEE Teach Abroad Programs. Students also heard about various top universities abroad for international students and what types of tuition/fees can be expected in different countries. The Cal Poly International Center is proud to be a resource for students no matter when they plan to go abroad, and look forward to offering this workshop on a quarterly basis.
