Guest Speaker: Maliha Zulfacar, Ph.D.
Maliha Zulfacar, Ph.D. is a renowned educator, researcher, author and filmmaker with experience spanning the U.S. and Afghanistan. She was an Afghan university professor and the ambassador of Afghanistan to Germany, as well as a Professor at Cal Poly earning the Faculty Woman of the Year Award and the Distinguished Faculty Award.
While she worked on her professional and her philanthropic efforts, Zulfacar also published a book “Afghan Immigrants in the USA and Germany: A comparative Analysis of the Use of Ethnic Social Capital” and co-produced and co-directed two documentaries about life in Afghanistan including “Kabul Transit” which has been featured on Netflix and is available at the Cal Poly Library.
